Lace is rife with preconceptions. In the wrong hands, it can look tacky, cheap or, sometimes, just too sexy to be appropriate (Madonna, below!) Valerie Tolosa's romantic Spring/Summer collection, however, is expertly crafted, floaty and feminine.
Her lace dresses in delicate creams contrast with black collars and slim double belts - an appropriation of Winter's tuxedo trends (above right). Lace detailing adorns light dresses and tops, teamed with another seasonal must have - florals.
Tolosa's Summer pieces are also decorated with petite florals, working in well with her ethereal collection. We're very fond of painterly florals- Fleur Wood's skirts and tops in vibrant hues rival anything in nature and are perfect for warm nights (below).
With floral prints blossoming everywhere and lace making a romantic turn; it's shaping up to be the prettiest season.
